Northern Tier West Sports ReportTOWANDA — Williamson surrendered eight unanswered runs on their way to an 11-3 loss to Towanda in NTL softball play here Thursday.
The Lady Black Knights scored three runs in the first inning, single runs in the second and third innings and three in the fourth to go up 8-0 on the Lady Warriors.
Williamson scored three runs in the top of the sixth and Towanda answered with three in the bottom half to provide the final.
The Lady Warriors had three base hits in the loss .. a double by Alexis Sprague and singles by Olivia Gee and Lexi Smalley.
Gee was tagged with the loss, starting and going four innings while giving up eight unearned runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Kenna Thomas pitched the final two innings and allowed three runs (1 earned) on two hits with two K’s.
Williamson (8-5) is scheduled to visit Canton on Monday.
