NTL SOFTBALL: NP-LIBERTY'S LITZELMAN & BOOTH HIT MILESTONES IN WIN OVER COWANESQUE VALLEY (2026-05-02)

WESTFIELD — North Penn-Liberty seniors Haley Litzelman and Elyna Booth each hit a career milestone in the Lady Mounties’ 7-5 win over Cowanesque Valley here Saturday.

Litzelman had three hits in the win, including a home run and the 100th base hit of the Bucknell commit’s career. 

Booth, who is headed to East Stroudsburg, had 12 strikeouts, including the 300th of her two-year career with the Mounties.

After two scoreless inning, North Penn-Liberty got on the scoreboard with Litzelman’s home run, that brought in Madison Smith, who had doubled.

Still up 2-0 in the top of the fifth, the Mounties got back-to-back, two-out singles from Julia Kaczynski and Litzelman before Kameron Lightner doubled to drive in both base runners and give NPL a 4-0 lead.

CV rallied in the bottom of the fifth .. using four of their seven base hits in the game and a pair of walks to take a 5-4 lead on the Mounties.

Booth led off the 6th inning getting hit by a pitch and scored on an Addie Lehman bunt single that was misplayed by the Lady Indians, leaving Lehman on third with the game tied at 5-all.

Smith followed with a single that scored Lehman and Kaczynski doubled to score Smith and provide the 7-5 final score.

Litzelman added two RBI and two runs scored to her three hits and Kaczynski finished with three base hits as well, including a double, and added an RBI and a run scored.

Lightner had two doubles and two RBI, Smith had two hits, with a double, an RBI and scored twice and Lehman had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Booth had a base hit and scored and Claire Dominick rounded out the Mounties’ offensive attack with a base hit.

For CV, Zeraya Wilson had three base hits, including two doubles, and added three RBI and a run scored, while Lilah LaBarron had two hits, with a double and an RBI.

Emma Carl had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, Natalie Grab Had a hit and scored a run and Katie Huzey and Carolyne Dorn each scored.

LaBarron was tagged with the loss, going all seven innings and allowing seven earned runs on 14 base hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

North Penn-Liberty (11-3) is at Northeast Bradford Tuesday, while Cowanesque Valley (9-7) is scheduled to host Towanda, also on Tuesday.
