Northern Tier West Sports ReportMONTGOMERY — North Penn-Liberty traveled to take on 13-4 Montgomery on Monday and came home with a 7-2 win.
The Lady Mounties scored two runs in their first at-bat and the host Red Raiders answered in the bottom of the first to tie the game at 2-2.
Liberty would score three in the third and single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to provide the final.
Julia Kaczyński had two doubles in the win, drove in and scored a run, Claire Dominick had two hits, with a double and an RBI, Haley Litzelman had two base hits with an RBI and two runs scored and Maddie MacNamara had two hits and scored twice. Kameron Lightner had an RBI and a run scored and Madison Smith scored a run.
Elyna Booth earned the win for NPL, pitching all seven innings and allowing two unearned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine.
The Lady Mounties (14-3) are scheduled to return to play on Wednesday when they host Hughesville (12-4).
