LAWRENCEVILLE — Williamson was out hit by Wellsboro but took advantage of numerous free passes and a pair of errors to celebrate senior recognition night with a 6-5 win in NTL softball action here Tuesday.

After two and a half scoreless innings, the host Lady Warriors plated the game’s first run in the third inning and went up 2-0 in the fourth.

Wellsboro used a Williamson error, singles by Mazie Johnson and Ady Frantz and a double from Haylie Smith to take a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth. The lead wouldn’t last long as Williamson scored four runs in the bottom half of the fifth to go up 6-3.

Lexi Smalley led off the fifth reaching base on an error and Kenna Thomas singled, followed by the Hornets intentionally walking Jocelyn Colegrove to load the bases.

Laila Hackett drew a walk to score Smalley and during Aubrey Roe’s five-pitch walk, Thomas scored on a wild pitch.

Ashlyn Wells hit a grounder to first and the Hornets’ Kaylee Frazie got Colegrove at the plate for the inning’s first out, but Mckenzie Adriance drew a walk to bring Hackett home.

Wellsboro got Roe out at home on a Laila Hackett ground ball to short and Olivia Gee singled Wells home for the 6-3 lead.

Wellsboro threatened in the top of the seventh, plating a pair of runs on a single from Harleigh Cleveland, a double by Smith, a Rylee Coolidge sacrifice and a Frantz double, but Thomas recorded a strikeout for the inning’s second out and Smalley threw Frantz out attempting to steal third to end the game.

Thomas earned the win for Williamson, pitching all seven innings and allowing five runs (2 earned) on seven base hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts while also finishing with two base hits and a run scored.

Smalley had a double and scored twice, Gee had a hit and an RBI, Laila Hackett had an RBI and a run scored, Adriance had an RBI and Roe and Wells each scored.
