Coen Tennis led the doubles-barrage with three two-baggers and had four base hits in the win, adding an RBI and two runs scored. 

After two scoreless innings, the Hornets scored three runs in the third and two in the fourth to go up 5-0. Hughesville got a run across in the fourth, followed by each team scoring two runs in the fifth, Wellsboro scoring one in the sixth and their final two in the top of the seventh.

The host Spartans tacked on two runs in their last at-bat to provide the 10-5 final score.

Griffin Morral (2b, 2 rbi, 2 runs), Gabe Cuneo (2b, 2 rbi, 1 run), Gage Baltzley (2b, 1 rbi) and Reed Richardson (2b, 1 run) each had two base hits in the win, Marek Mascho (2b, 2 rbi, 1 run) and Max Mascho (1 rbi) had one hit each, Kody Enck scored two runs and Maddon Mascho scored once.

Marek Mascho started on the mound and went four innings, allowing an unearned run on three base hits and five walks with six strikeouts. Baltzley threw the final three frames, giving up four runs (3 earned) on four hits and two walks with one K.

Wellsboro finishes the regular season with a 17-2 mark, as co-champions of the NTL large school division .. along with Athens, who claimed half the title with an extra innings win over Troy on Tuesday .. and as the top seed in the upcoming District IV Class 3A playoffs.
