NTL TRACK & FIELD: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD BOYS 4X800 RELAY HEADED TO STATES (2026-05-14)

MILTON, PA — The North Penn-Mansfield boys’ 4x800m relay team placed 4th at Thursday’s first day of the District IV Track & Field Championships and qualified for the PIAA Championships.

Braden VanLoon, Sudan Benner, Peter Bishop and Michael Knefley ran a 8:07.97 to place 4th, well under the state qualifying time of 8:15.55 to punch their ticket to States.

Deakon Valentine placed 3rd in the javelin (166-0.00), just out of the top-2 spots that earn a trip to states while Brody Grinnell was 9th (145-9.00).

For the Lady Tigers, the 4x800m relay team of Jaci Fairchild, Maryn McCarthy, Leila Garverick and Scarlett Graham placed 8th (10:17.25), Nora Furry was 18th in the 100m hurdles (18.52) and Garverick was 19th in the 3200m run (12:33.40).

Action resumes back at Milton High School for Day Two on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
