Northern Tier West Sports ReportMILTON, PA — Williamson senior Madalynn Bailey placed 2nd in the long jump at Day One of the District IV Track & Field Championships Thursday to qualify for the PIAA Championships and will take her 4x800m relay teammates along to States after placing 4th with a qualifying time.
Bailey, Maddison Fay, Lainey Hackett and Natalie Yonker ran a 9:47.37 in the 4x800m to finish 4th and qualify for states while Bailey’s leap of 16-10.75 was good for silver Thursday, automatically sending her to Shippensburg next week.
In the 3200m run, Hackett was 10th (12:07.91), Yonker was 15th (12:20.96) and Fay was 17th (12:30.40), while Sayde Loucks was 18th in the discus (92-5) and Elizabeth O’Neil was 20th in the 100m hurdles (18.77).
Joshua Teague competed in the 100m dash for the boys, finishing 22nd (11.78).
Action resumes back at Milton High School for Day Two on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
