Northern Tier West Sports ReportHUGHESVILLE — North Penn-Liberty lost their final regular season game to Hughesville last Thursday and on Tuesday the Lady Mounties fell to the Spartans again, 4-1, in the first round of the District IV Class 3A playoffs.
The No. 4 seed Spartans scored all of their runs with a four run second inning before the Lady Mounties plated their lone run of the game in the third when Madison Smith singled with two outs and Haley Litzelman drove her in with a single.
Litzelman finished with two base hits and an RBI while Smith, Kameron Lightner and Elyna Booth each had a hit in the loss.
Booth pitched all six innings for Liberty, allowing four earned runs on six base hits and four walks with four strikeouts.
The Mounties finish their 2026 season with a 14-5 mark.
