Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — The Williamson baseball team battled through a 4-15 rebuilding season in 2026, led by first year Head Coach Chase Austin and a group of promising underclassmen.
The Warriors won their last two games of the season .. over Oswayo Valley and Northern Potter .. after having beaten 3-16 Sayre twice to finish 4-15. In their losses, Williamson fell by an average of nine runs per game, including four by four runs or less.
A bright spot for the Warriors was Kohen VanDelinder topping the .300 mark at the plate, collecting 14 base hits to bat .304 with 11 runs scored and reaching base at a .484 clip. The sophomore also earned three of Williamson’s four wins on the mound, going 3-4 on the season over 40 innings of work with a 3.50 ERA and 42 strikeouts.
Freshman Spencer VanDelinder (.226 BA, 12 hits, 7 runs, 7 RBI, .339 OBP) and junior Carter Tubbs (.227 BA, 10 hits, 4 runs, 4 RBI) both hit double digits in base hits while juniors Maddox Hartman (.222 BA, 6 hits, 6 runs, 13 BB) and Westin Copp (.214 BA, 6 hits, 5 runs, 4 RBI, 6 BB, 10 HBP) each had a .500 on-base-percentage.
Hartman had the Warriors’ remaining win and went 1-4 over 20 innings on the mound with a 6.89 ERA and 18 K’s.
Williamson will look to the 2027 season with a good portion of their production coming back.
