Northern Tier West Sports ReportATHENS — The Southern Tioga major All-Stars edged Athens 9-8 Tuesday to advance to the final of the PA District 15 softball bracket.
Athens took a 4-0 lead in the first inning and went up 6-0 in the fourth before Southern Tioga rallied for an 8-run fifth frame to take the lead. Athens tied it up at 8-all in the sixth before ST loaded the bases in their final at-bat and drew a walk to score the winning run.
Southern Tioga awaits the winner of the loser’s bracket final between Athens and Wellsboro on Wednesday and will play for the District title on Friday at Athens.
