NTWSR 'SUPER 7' MALE ROOKIES OF THE SPRING (2026-07-04)

TIOGA COUNTY — The NTWSR ’Super 7’ Male Rookies of the Spring includes a group of young athletes who made significant contributions to their teams in 2026.

Wellsboro freshman Gage Baltzley and North Penn-Mansfield freshman Ryder Breon were named the All-Tioga County ‘Co-Rookies of the Year’ for baseball.

Baltzley hit .362 with 17 base hits, 20 runs scored, 25 RBI, 18 stolen bases and a .557 OBP and went 4-0 on the mound with 30 innings pitched, a 2.40 ERA and 32 strikeouts for the large school co-champion Hornets.

Breon hit .338 with 22 base hits, 13 runs scored, 12 RBI and a .403 OBP and threw 16 innings with 15 K’s and a 3.94 ERA for the 8-12 Tigers. 

Wellsboro freshman James Doughtie helped the Hornets’ tennis team to an undefeated league mark and an NTL title while going 3-0 in singles’ matches and 5-5 in doubles. 

Cowanesque Valley sophomores Brody Bruce and Cam Stahli helped the Indians to a small school title in their first seasons as everyday players .. Bruce hit .372 with 16 base hits, 12 RBI, 9 runs scored and a .509 on-base-percentage while Stahli hit .250 with 9 base hits, 10 runs scored, 7 RBI and a .341 OBP.

North Penn-Mansfield freshmen Kam House received valuable playing time during the Tigers’ season and collected 11 base hits and hit .244 with seven RBI and seven runs scored.

Wellsboro freshman Liam Stevens placed 3rd in the long jump and 10th in the 200m dash at the NTL Championships and finished 15th in the long jump at Districts.
