Tioga junior Jackson Bombard stepped from the baseball diamond to the links and made an immediate impact. He is the "Boys Golf Newcomer of the Year," and Paul Lantz is "Coach of the Year" after piloting Towanda to an NTL title.
Hermansen averaged an 80.2 during the regular season to lead the Tigers to a 21-13-1 record.
He shot a second-day 69 at the District IV, Class 2A championships to claim the title by four strokes with a two-day total of 150.
Hermansen qualified for States for the third straight year, finishing in 37th place.
Bombard, a standout on the Tioga baseball team as a freshman and sophomore, led the Tiger golf squad to the Section IV, Class C team championships, and qualified for the Section IV Individual Championships.
Bombard averaged a plus-6.4 per nine, roughly 84.8 for 18 holes, including a low round of plus-2 37 at Shepard Hills.
Bombard shot an 88 at the Class C team championships, and a 96 at the Section IV Individual Championship.
Towanda had about as good a season as it gets, with Lantz and his staff earning the "Coach of the Year" honors.
Towanda, with four golfers in the top nine in scoring average in league play, posted a 35-0 record to claim an NTL title, and was 37-2 overall.

First Team
Andy Hermansen, North Penn-Mansfield: See above.
Eli Hicks, Athens: Hicks led the NTL with a 79.2 scoring average this season, including a low round of 75.
Hicks led the District 4, Class AAA Championships after a Day 1 round of 74, bur finished second to punch is ticket to the PIAA Championships with a two-day total of 152. At States, Hicks shot matching rounds of 79 to finish 51st with a two-day total of 158.
Ty Owen, Athens: Owen was second in the NTL with a scoring average of 79.5, including a low round of 76.
He won the NTL Championship tournament with a round of 76 at Corey Creek, and finished third at the District 4 Championships with a two-day total of 157 (82-75).
Jackson Cavalier, Elmira: Cavalier averaged 3.7 over par for nine holes this season, for an 18-hole average of 79.4. Cavalier shot a 77 to tie for sixth, and lead the Express to its first-ever Section IV title.
Cavalier was 10th at the STAC Championships with a round of 78. The STAC plays it regular season in the fall, while New York holds its state tournament in the spring. Cavalier did not play in the Section IV Championships because he was preparing for baseball postseason.
Skyler Pietrzyk, Wellsboro: Pierrzyk averaged 79.8 during regular season, which ranked third in the NTL.
Pietrzyk shot a 76 for third place at the District IV Team Championships to lead Wellsboro to a fifth-place finish. He placed 11th at District IV Individual Championships with a two-day total of 163..
Griff Walter, Waverly: Walter averaged 40.85 per nine holes, or 81.7 per 18 holes, including three rounds of 38 (at Shepard Hills, Golden Oak in Windsor, and the Golf Club at Owego.)
Walter qualified for the Section IV Individual Championships and shot a 91.
Bryce Clark, Corning: Clark averaged 81.4 per 18 holes in the fall. He shot a 98 at the State Qualifier this spring.
Boom Thompson, Towanda: Thompson was fifth in the NTL with an 82.4 scoring average, and a low round of 75.
Thompson placed seventh at the District 4, Class AA Championships to punch his ticket to States, where he finished 57th.

Graham Welles, Towanda: Welles was sixth in the NTL with an 83.4 scoring average, and a low round of 74.
Welles placed sixth at the District 4, Class AA Championships to punch his ticket to States, where he finished 40th.
Ryan Ferraro, Elmira: Ferraro averaged 83 over 18 holes this season, and shot an 82 to help Elmira to its first-ever Section IV title in the fall.
Alex Kalamaris, North Penn-Mansfield: The sophomore averaged 84.2 in league play, which ranked seventh in the NTL. He placed 23rd at the District IV Championships.
Aiden Ranck, Elmira: Ranck averaged an 83 over 18 holes and shot a 73 to place third at the Section IV Championships and help Elmira to its first-ever Section IV title in the fall.
Ranck shot a 90 at the state qualifier this spring.
Logan DeMember, Elmira: DeMember averaged 83 over 18 holes, and shot a 77 to place sixth at the Section IV Championships and help Elmira to its first-ever Section IV title in the fall.

Jeff Cain, Horseheads: Cain averaged an 83 over 18 holes , and shot a 78 at the Section IV Championships to finish ninth.
Cain shot a 90 at the state qualifier.
Liam Ward, Notre Dame: Ward averaged an 83 for the Crusaders and shot 92 at the Section IV Championships.
