#15 .. Wellsboro Girls & Boys Tennis Teams Each Win NTL Titles
The Lady Hornets went 4-0 in a depleted league as Towanda didn’t field a team, beating North Penn-Liberty and Cowanesque Valley twice each to claim the championship.
The boys went 6-0 to win the league .. beating Towanda, North Penn-Liberty and CV two times each .. and went 11-6 overall on the season.

#14 .. Williamson Wins NTL Small School Softball Title
The Williamson softball team earned a Small School title by going 7-1 in the division and went 13-8 overall in the 2026 season.
Besides a season-splitting 7-3 loss to Canton, the Lady Warriors rolled through the NTL-II, winning their seven games over Northeast Bradford, Sayre, Canton and CV by an average of 9 runs per contest.
After dropping the late season game to Canton in the first game of a double-header, Williamson went 5-1 to finish the regular season 13-7. Their loss came against North Penn-Liberty, 3-0, and the streak included wins over Canton, two over Addison, Wellsboro and a 3-1 win over 15-4 Northern Potter.
The Warriors were the third and final team to make the 2A playoffs and fell to Wyalusing 7-3 to bring their season to an end.
The All-Tioga County and All-Region Defensive Player of the Year, backstop Lexi Smalley, led the Lady Warriors with a .404 batting average and a .547 OBP. The junior had 21 base hits .. with a home run and nine doubles .. and added 20 runs, 14 RBI, 13 walks and was hit by a pitch seven times.
Junior Olivia Gee led the Lady Warriors at the plate, collecting 23 base hits .. with a home run, a triple and two doubles .. and hit .383 with 23 runs scored, 20 stolen bases, nine RBI and a .479 on-base-percentage.
Gee also went 6-4 in the circle for Williamson, throwing 53 and two-third innings with a 1.57 ERA and 64 strikeouts.
Ace Kenna Thomas went 7-3 over 72 and a third innings with a 1.16 ERA, 95 strikeouts and issued just seven walks. The senior had 19 base hits .. including two home runs, a triple and six doubles .. and hit .358 with 20 RBI and 15 runs scored with a .500 OBP.

#13 .. Cowanesque Valley Wins NTL Small School Baseball Title
The Cowanesque Valley baseball team came up a bit short in their bid to defend their 2025 District IV title, but the Indians finished with a 17-4 record and repeated as the NTL Small School champions in 2026.
CV went 8-0 in the NTL-II, outscoring Canton, NEB, Sayre and Williamson 83-20 and winning by an average of over 10 runs per game.
The Indians entered the Class A playoffs as the top seed and looking to defend their 2025 title. After taking down NEB in the semis, the Indians played Benton in the final, where they’d fall 6-4 to bring their season to an end.
A trio of 2025 All-Tioga County first teamers led the Indians in ’26, as senior Ayren Morgan (.426 BA, 26 hits, 2-2b, 27 runs, 24 RBI, 13 SB, .537 OBP) and juniors Dave Hess (.392 BA, 29 hits, 5-2b, 3-3b, 32 runs, 21 RBI, 30 SB, .434 OBP) and Lucas Hamilton (.375 BA, 24 hits, 4-2b, 1 HR, 25 runs, 19 RBI, 9 SB, .461 OBP) provided vital leadership and production throughout the year.
Hess (24 IP, 3-1, 3.21 ERA, 22 K) and Morgan (23 IP, 2-3, 4.26 ERA, 25 K) also led CV from the mound.

#12 .. North Penn-Mansfield Boys T&F Wins NTL Title
The North Penn-Mansfield boys Track & Field team ran, jumped and threw their way to an NTL title.
The Tigers won five events at the NTL meet .. Deakon Valentine in the javelin and the discus, Michael Knefley in the 1600m run, Luke Kreger in the high jump and Kreger, Sudan Benner, Brody Grinnell and Colton Pellett in the 4x100m relay.
The Tigers racked up places and points to support their event wins at the league meet.
Kreger was 2nd in the long jump, Grinnell was 2nd in the javelin and 3rd in the 100m dash, Benner was 2nd in the 100 and both the 4x400 (Knefley, Benner, Braden VanLoon, Peter Bishop) and 4x800 (VanLoon, Benner, Bishop, Knefley) relays placed 2nd.
Pellett was 3rd in the high jump and 4th in both the long and triple jumps, Knefley was 3rd in the 3200 and 4th in the 800 and VanLoon was 3rd in the 400. Valentine was 5th in the shot put, Bishop was 6th in the 400, Charles Aumick was 8th in the 300m hurdles and Gage Wheatley was 8th in the triple jump.

#11 .. Wellsboro Swim Teams Collect District IV Medals
Wellsboro brought home a handful of medals from the District IV Swim Championships.
Sophomore Piper Anderegg collected three medals, taking 3rd in the 500 Free (5:45.57), 4th in the 200 Free (2:08.34) and 4th in the 400 Free Relay (4:14.61) along with senior teammates Makenna Robbins and Kristina Belz and freshman Joelle Bull.
The relay squad also placed 6th in the 200 Free Relay (1:51.73).
Makenna Robbins took 5th in the 100 Breaststroke ((1:13.07) and 6th in the 200 IM (2:25.75) and Belz placed 14th in the 100 Breastroke (1:22.18) and 20th in the 50 Free (29.42).
The girls finished in 9th place as a team with 117 points.
On the boys’ side, sophomore Matthew Robbins earned a 4th place medal in the 50 Free (24.11) and was 8th in the 100 Free (53.14), while junior Max Mascho placed 4th in the 100 Backstroke (1:04.17) to earn a medal and was 11th in the 50 Free (25.15).
The 200 Medley Relay team of Mascho, Robbins, DeShazo and Sporer were 5th (1:54.99) and their 200 Free Relay team also placed 5th (1:41.78).
The boys finished tied for 6th as a team with 123 points.
