Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Cowanesque Valley finished in 5th place (3-4) at the first league match of the 2026 golf season at Tyoga Country Club Friday, led by Ashtyn Burdick’s team-low round of 82.
Burdick had two birdies on his way to a 43 on the front and a 39 on the back to finish +11 for the day, while Danny Smith shot an 87 (46, 41), Grant Hills had a 95 (47, 48) and Katie Huzey had a 105 (51, 54) to give the Indians a four player aggregate score of 369. Luke Hamilton (110) and Brent Watkins (117) shot unscored rounds for CV.
Towanda (305) won, followed by Athens (327), Wellsboro (344) and North Penn-Mansfield (350) while CV beat Wyalusing (387), Canton (402) and Sayre (434).
