Northern Tier West Sports ReportLIBERTY — North Penn-Liberty Head boys soccer Coach Matt Grinnell welcomed back a strong group of returners last week as the Mounties get ready for the 2026 season.
Grinnell, who expects a roster of around 30 players, points to returners Kolton Alexander, Silas Boiywo, Luke Chakraborty, Mason Forer, Jonathan Kieser, Nathan Knefley, Nicholas Ohnmeiss, Kai Wheeland, Parker Jackson and David Graf as being key to the Mounties this year, saying, “Every one of these kids played varsity last year and were very good when they were in and played.”
The Mounties will also be looking to incorporate some newcomers into the mix, with Grinnell pointing out Sudan Benner, Isaac Pereira and Owen Lisowski as rookies to the program that could contribute right away.
North Penn-Liberty went 10-8-1 a season ago and ended their season with a loss in the District IV playoffs .. their third straight appearance there.
Grinnell says the Mounties’ goals for this season are to play as a team, work together and make it back to the playoffs.
The Mounties are scheduled to open their season on Saturday at Galeton.
