Northern Tier West Sports ReportBLOSSBURG — North Penn-Mansfield hosted South Williamsport for their season opener here Friday and fell to the visiting Mounties 48-0.
South Williamsport racked up 397 yards of total offense while its defense held the home Panthers to negative 54 yards.
The Mounties scored twice in the opening quarter and took a 35-0 lead into halftime. Scores in each of the second-half quarters provided the final.
NPM QB Peyton Greene carried the ball eight times for minus-54 yards while Jeremiah Lawrence had four carries for minus-20 yards.
Greene completed 2-of-14 passes for 20 yards .. Keaton Manikowski had a catch for 13 yards and Conner Lewis had one for seven yards.
North Penn-Mansfield visits Towanda Friday.
