Northern Tier West Sports ReportWYALUSING — Junior Gabe Cuneo scored a hat trick to help lead Wellsboro to a season-opening 11-0 win over Wyalusing here Saturday.
The Hornets scored six times in the first half and then added five more goals in the second while holding the Rams to just 2 shots on goal, both of which were saved by junior Camden Bryant.
In addition to Cuneo's hat trick, senior Jacob Smith had a pair of goals while senior Mason Brill, sophomore James Doughtie, sophomore Liam Stevens, senior Coen Tennis, senior Kayden Pearson and junior Stephen Poirier all scored.
Wellsboro out shot Wyalusing 16-2 and took 17 corner kicks.
Wellsboro (1-0, 1-0 NTL), hosts Troy on Tuesday.
