Northern Tier West Sports ReportMANSFIELD — The Lady Tigers used a pair of second half goals to top Meadowbrook Christian Academy 2-0 in NPM’s season opener here Monday.
After a scoreless first half, North Penn-Mansfield got on the board with 15 minutes left in the second when Iris Irwin found the net off a corner kick.
Scarlett Graham took a pass from Addi Lehman five minutes later and put a shot over the MCA goalie’s head to provide the 2-0 final score.
Mansfield keeper Avalon Rew stopped all seven shots she faced while the Tigers also had seven shots on goal and held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.
North Penn-Mansfield (1-0) is scheduled to return to play on Wednesday when they host Towanda.
