Northern Tier West Sports ReportTOWANDA — Wellsboro fell behind 1-0 to Towanda at the half and lost 3-1 to the Black Knights in an NTL boys’ soccer match-up here Thursday.
Towanda went up 3-0 in the second half before James Doughtie took a direct kick from Jacob Smith and scored with under a minute left to allow the Hornets to avoid the clean sheet.
The Hornets outshot Towanda 15-5 and had a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Wellsboro (2-1) returns to action Tuesday when they host North Penn-Liberty.
