David Graff scored off a Silas Boiywo assist in the second half to avoid the clean sheet.
Athens outshot NPL 14-6 and had a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks. Keeper Cooper Barnes had eight saves in net for the Mounties.
North Penn-Liberty (0-4) is scheduled to return to play on Tuesday at Wellsboro.
