Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The host Hornets scored the game's only goal with 15 minutes remaining in the first half and made it stand to pull out a 1-0 win over Athens here Thursday afternoon in NTL boys soccer action.
Cody Tomlinson scored with 15 minutes remaining in the first half after collecting a rebound off a save to give Wellsboro a 1-0 lead.
Athens had a 4-3 edge in shots-on-goal, while Wellsboro had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Wellsboro, now 5-1-1, returns to action Saturday at Jersey Shore.
