Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Senior Goalie Jadyn Dunlap recorded her fourth shutout victory of the season while sophomore Haylie Smith scored the game's lone goal to sink Muncy 1-0 Saturday.
Prior to kickoff, the team honored Dunlap with a banner for recording her 500th career save earlier in the week against Troy.
"500 saves is a pretty incredible milestone and Jadyn has earned every one of them," head coach Michael Reese said. "She's put in a lot of work, she's battled through a lot of games and she's been a big part of what we’ve built here. Every save has a story behind it and there are a lot of people who have been part of that story. We were really happy to celebrate her today."
Muncy spent a lot of time in the first half in Wellsboro territory, but the Lady Hornets flipped the script just past the midway point in the second as junior Isla Twoey found Smith for a goal with 17:44 left to go in the game.
Dunlap saved nine of the Lady Indians' shots on goal. Dunlap now sits at 511 saves and 19 shutouts for her career.
Both teams had four corner kicks, two direct and two indirect kicks.
The Lady Hornets improve to 4-1-1 (3-0-1) on the year. They host Williamson in NTL action on Tuesday.
