COLLEGE WRESTLING: UPDATE ON WILLIAMSON'S MATT CARPENTER AT PENN COLLEGE (2022-02-03)
By Lance LarcomNorthern Tier West Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Williamson grad Matt Carpenter has continued his athletic career at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, as a member of the Wildcat wrestling team.
Carpenter was a North Sectional champ for Williamson in 2019 at 126 pounds, as well as a District IV champ and a PIAA qualifier. He finished his senior season with a 29-9 record.
At Penn College, Carpenter competed at 141 pounds during the 2020 season, going 5-9 for the Wildcats.
This season, Carpenter has compiled a 2-2 record at 149 pounds, going 1-2 with a 5-3 decision at the Wildcat Invitational on November 20th, and recording a fall in 3:55 on January 29 against Wilkes.
The Wildcats currently stand at 3-8. They are scheduled to host both Pitt-Bradford and Centenary on Saturday, starting at 1:00 p.m.
