#sports: UNPOPULAR OPINION (2021-08-11)
Northern Tier West Sports Report
Contrary to how the title of this column sounds, I’m not going to spout off on a bunch of sports subjects and choose the side less-popular simply to cause controversy, to seem edgy or to gain attention by saying something outrageous or inciting. As an example of this, see most mainstream sports reporters, who have a huge following and can honestly be identified by which widely popular athlete that they regularly criticize. ...more

NTL BASEBALL: ALL-TIOGA COUNTY BASEBALL TEAM (2021-07-31)
Northern Tier West Sports Report
Wellsboro won an NTL Large-School baseball title, averaging nearly 13 runs per game in their 12 wins. Considering that in their eight losses, run production dropped to three runs per game, it’s clear that as the Hornet offense went, their team went. NTL SOFTBALL: ALL-TIOGA COUNTY SOFTBALL TEAM (2021-07-29)
Northern Tier West Sports Report
Kerrah Clymer put up some gaudy numbers at the plate for 15-6 Wellsboro this season, including a .486 batting average, with 34 hits, 32 runs scored, 25 RBI and a .575 on-base percentage. She had seven home runs and added six doubles and three triples. For that, Clymer is the Northern Tier West Sports Report All-Tioga County Offensive Player of the Year. The senior also threw 99 innings as the Hornets’ #1 pitcher, with 10 wins and 83 strikeouts. For that, Clymer is the All-Tioga County Pitcher of the Year. Because of her performance both in the circle and at the plate, Clymer is the clear choice as the Northern Tier West Sports Report All-Tioga County Softball Player of the Year. ...more
