DISTRICT IV TRACK & FIELD: WEST TO BE WELL-REPRESENTED AT DISTRICTS (2022-05-19)

Northern Tier West Sports Report
The District IV Track & Field performance lists are out, giving us a chance to look at which of our West athletes will be competing on Thursday and Saturday at the Championships in Williamsport.

The top two finishers in each event automatically qualify for states, while those that place third or lower can advance if they hit the state standard, up to the eighth place. The top eight for Class AA earn medals.

THURSDAY, 5 p.m.
Girls’ 100 meter dash prelims
The lone West qualifier in the 100 is Jade Colwell from Williamson. The freshman is the 19th seed and will run in the first of three heats. 

The top four finishers in each heat, plus the next four fastest times, will advance to the semifinals.

Boys’ 100 meter dash prelims
Wellsboro’s Jack Poirier is the 6th seed and teammate Dillon Boyce is the 19th seed. Both will run in the first of three heats. Williamson’s Stephen Gohr is the 16th seed and will run in the third preliminary heat.

The top four finishers in each heat, plus the next four fastest times, will advance to the semifinals.

Girls’ 100 meter hurdles prelims
Williamson teammates Chelsea Hungerford (8th seed, heat 2) and Evelyn Louca (21st seed, heat 3) will both compete.

The top three in each heat plus the next two best times advance.

Girls’ 4x800 meter relay finals
Wellsboro’s team of Sarah Seeling, Rosalind King, Madeline Gage and Madeline Bryant will be the 11th seed.

Boys’ 4x800 meter relay finals
Williamson’s Duncan Kerr, Nathaniel Welch, Kristian Mizdail and Owen Cummings are the 3rd seed .. just 10 seconds off the top-seed time and three seconds over the 2nd seed.

Boys’ Long Jump
The West will have three athletes competing .. Williamson’s Mason Kelsey is the 7th seed, while Wellsboro’s Aiden Gehman is the 11th seed and North Penn-Mansfield’s Brady Stetter is the 18th seed.

Girls’ Long Jump
Wellsboro’s Annie Gehman is the lone West rep here, seeded 21st among AA girls.

Boys’ Shot Put
NP-Mansfield’s Brody Burleigh is the only West qualifier and is seeded 24th.

Boys’ Javelin
NP-Mansfield will have both Jett Harold, the 17th seed, and Burleigh, the 21st seed, competing.

Girls’ Discus
North Penn-Mansfield’s Tierney Patterson is the lone West representative here and is seeded 11th.

SATURDAY, 9 a.m.
Boys 3200 meter run
Williamson’s Owen Cummings is the 4th seed, teammate Kristian Mizdail is 5th and NP-Mansfield’s Noah Shedden is 6th.

Girls’ 1600 meter
NP-Mansfield’s Addison Farrer is 20th and Williamson’s Hailey Warner is 23rd.

Boys’ 1600 meter
Cummings is 2nd, Mizdail is 4th and Shedden is 8th.

Girls’ 4x100 meter relay
Williamson’s team of Jade Colwell, Chelsea Hungerford, Ella Churchill and Kyra Daley are 14th, while NP-Mansfield’s squad of Darby Stetter, Kendelle Holleran, Anna Kennedy and Tessa Mitchell are 15th.

Boys’ 4x100 meter relay
Wellsboro (Joseph Brown, Jack Poirier, Jack Bryant and Dillon Boyce) is 7th, while Williamson (Fletcher Good, Elliott Good, Mason Kelsey and Stephen Gohr) are 9th and NP-Mansfield (Jett Harold, Brady Stetter, Brayden Johnson and Jackson Brion) are 13th.

Girls’ 400 meter run
Williamson’s Daley is the lone qualifier and is seeded 19th.

Boys’ 400 meter run
Williamson teammates Elias Kaufman and Michael Lewis are 5th and 22nd.

Girls’ 300 meter hurdles
Williamson’s Hungerford is the 16th seed.

Boys’ 300 meter hurdles
Duncan Kerr from Williamson is the 6th seed.

Boys’ 800 meter run
Williamson’s trio of Welch, Cummings and Mizdail are 3rd, 6th and 8th, while NPM’s Zack Wilcox is 20th.

Girls’ 4x400 meter relay
NP-Mansfield’s team of Anna Kennedy, Kendelle Holleran, Addison Farrer and Ella Farrer are 17th.

Boys’ 4x400 meter relay
Williamson (Elias Kaufman, Skylar Hughes, Michael Lewis and Duncan Kerr) are 5th, and NP-Mansfield (Cedric Miller, Zack Wilcox, Brayden Johnson and Jett Harold) are 16th.

Boys’ Triple Jump
Wellsboro’s Aiden Gehman is seeded 4th, while NPM teammates Caiden Alexander and Zack Wilcox are 19th and 20th.

Girls’ Javelin
Wellsboro’s Emma Coolidge is 7th, and Tierney Patterson from NP-Mansfield is seeded 23rd.

Girls’ Pole Vault
Williamson’s Ryann Slusser is seeded 25th.

Boys’ Discus
Wellsboro’s Wyatt Gastrock is seeded 14th, and Ean Bump from Williamson is 21st.

Girls’ High Jump
Annie Gehman from Wellsboro is seeded 10th, while NP-Mansfield’s Darby Stetter is 25th.

Girls’ Triple Jump
Wellsboro’s Gehman is the lone West qualifier, seeded 6th.

Boys’ High Jump
Wellsboro teammates Aiden Gehman and Kyle Mosher are seeded 18th and 20th, while Williamson’s Fletcher Good is 21st and NP-Mansfield’s Brady Stetter is 22nd.

Boys’ Pole Vault
Wellsboro’s Spencer Wetzel is seeded 12th, while Williamson’s Gavin Cloos is 25th.

Girls’ Shot Put
Williamson’s Renee Abbott is the 22nd seed.
