TRAVEL SOFTBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY TRIO COMPETE AT NATIONAL TOURNEY (2022-07-18)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportCOLUMBUS, OH — The Wellsville 16U Diamond Dawgs, featuring a trio of Cowanesque Valley players, finished 2-2 at the North American All Sanctioned Softball World Series this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio.
CV’s Maddie Millard, Ella Churchill and Tabby Piper helped the Dawgs go 2-2 in pool play .. falling 4-3 to Texas Ohio and 9-5 to Ohio Power, then beating the Ohio Barracudas 18-3 and the top team in their pool, the LaSalle Athletics out of Canada, 8-1.
Due to the tournament being rained out on the final day, no championship games were played, but the Dawgs received a 2nd-place trophy from the Gold Bracket.
