TRAVEL BASEBALL: WILLIAMSON'S MONROE HELPS SENECA CAPTURE TOURNEY TITLE (2022-07-25)

The Seneca All-Stars 14u baseball team went 7-0 over the weekend and came away as the champions of the 2022 Cap Classic in Buffalo.

Over the course of the weekend the team picked up wins over tough competition from the U.S. and Canada.

In the championship game the Seneca All Stars 14u Blue trailed the Niagara Surge 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Zac Giammichele led off with a single to right field. Mica Hays then doubled to right field and after an out was recorded Andrew Jones singled home Giammichele to make the score 3-2.

Reed Palmer singled home Hays to tie the game and Nolan Edwards doubled home Jones and Palmer to help the Seneca All Stars win 5-3.

The tournament had 19 teams from Canada, New York, Pennsylvania and some other states.

In the championship game both Edwards (Elmira), Palmer (Troy), Jones (Addison) and Giammichele (Horseheads) all had two hits.

The roster for the tournament included Giammichele, Hays, Chase Mashanic, Hunter Matkosky and Keagan Monahan are from Horseheads. Quinn Hanrahan, Logan Demember, Edwards and Ryan Mathews are from Elmira. Jones is from Addison and Micah Marvin is from Arkport. Palmer is from Troy and Connor Monroe is from Williamson.
