PIAA VOLLEYBALL: LADY MOUNTIES TO MEET NOTRE DAME-GREEN POND IN STATE QUARTERS (2022-11-11)

BERWICK — With their opening-round win in the State playoffs on Tuesday, the North Penn-Liberty volleyball team will continue their run in the post season with a quarterfinal match-up against Notre Dame-Green Pond on Saturday at Berwick High School.

Notre Dame-Green Pond is 16-4 on the season, went 8-2 in their league and won the District 11 championship. They beat District 12 champ Colwell-Egan 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-20) in the first round of States.

The Crusaders are led by 6’ junior middle hitter Carly Campbell, 5’ 4” junior outside hitter Alyssa Eilenberger and sophomore libero Abby Calon.

The Lady Mounties are now 20-1, and have an NTL Large-School title and District IV AA championship. They have not lost a set during their post-season run, topping Athens, Wyalusing and Lake Lehman 3-0 each, and have dropped only a pair of sets in their last 13 matches .. one each in 3-1 wins over Williamsport and Wellsboro.

The winner of Saturday’s quarterfinal will play the winner between District 3 champ York Catholic (20-1) and District 6 runner-up Tyrone (13-6) in the State semifinals on Tuesday, November 15th.
