On choosing Elmira, Berkan says, “Elmira has a great reputation as a college with its history and tradition.I like the idea of being close to home and playing in front of my family and friends, and everyone I met was super nice and easy to talk with, from admissions to the coaches.”

On his possible role with the Soaring Eagles, Berkan says, “I’ve been told I’ll be used as a pitcher and also have the opportunity to play middle infield.”

Elmira went 13-24-1 last season, including a 7-12-1 conference mark.

“I’ve played travel baseball with a couple of the freshman on this years team,” Berkan says, “and I’m looking forward to reuniting with them and playing with the rest of the team.”
