DISTRICT IV WRESTLING: WELLSBORO DUO EACH FALL IN CHAMPIONSHIP PRELIMS (2023-02-24)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Both of Wellsboro’s District IV Championship qualifiers fell in their preliminary round match Friday night and will now wrestle in the consolations Saturday morning.
At 145 pounds, Silas Mickey lost by technical fall to Warrior Run’s Kaden Milheim (38-3) .. who then upset the No. 3 seed to reach the semis. Mickey will face Danville’s Kyle Vanden Heuvel (23-6) in the first round of consolations.
Ryder Bowen also fell in his preliminary round match at 172 pounds, getting pinned in 4:39 by Coy Bryson from Montgomery. Bowen will wrestle Benton’s Evan Brokenshire (28-6) Saturday morning.
Wrestling begins at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at Williamsport High School.
