DISTRICT IV BOYS BASKETBALL: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD TO BATTLE LOYALSOCK IN 3A SEMIS (2023-02-27)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportMONTOURSVILLE — District IV Class AAA No. 1 seed North Penn-Mansfield will look to keep their title hopes alive on Tuesday when the Tigers take on perennial power Loyalsock in the playoff semifinals at Montoursville High School.
The Tigers (23-2) cruised in their quarterfinal win over Hughesville .. a team Loyalsock has beaten twice this season, 54-51 and 60-46, while the Lancers beat Southern Columbia 72-48.
Loyalsock (14-9) lost their final game of the regular season 64-44 to Wellsboro, who the Tigers went 2-1 against this season.
North Penn-Mansfield will be the third game on the docket at Montoursville on Tuesday, as the Class 4A boys semifinal featuring Athens and Danville are scheduled to play at 5 p.m., Troy and Warrior Run are scheduled to start at 6:30 in the other 3A semifinal and the Tigers and Lancers are scheduled to tip off at 8 p.m.
