TRAVEL VOLLEYBALL: WELLSBORO'S BROWNLEE HELPS ELMIRA HEAT TO TOURNAMENT WIN (2023-03-06)
Southern Tier Sports ReportThe Elmira Heat 18u volleyball team, featuring Wellsboro's Meredith Brownlee, won the Whirlwind March Madness, while three other Heat teams advanced to the gold tournament on Sunday.
The first-place 18u team had six girls, with no subs, in winning the title. The team was made up of Brownlee, Madi Jones of Elmira, Mia Foster, Kiersten McCarthy and Lexi Malay of Horseheads, Addy Chorney of Elmira.
The team is coached by Jordan McCooey.
The 14u went unbeaten in pool play and took third, 15u took fourth and 16u took third.
