NTL BOYS TENNIS: NORTH PENN-LIBERTY LOOKING TO COMPETE IN '23 (2023-03-26)

Northern Tier West Sports Report
BLOSSBURG — The North Penn-Liberty boys tennis team has been busy practicing for the upcoming season, and while their numbers are low once again, Head Coach Tracy Gregory is optimistic about his young squad.

“We only had six players last year and five out of the six were first year players,” Gregory says, “We still only have six players .. but four of them are returning juniors .. including our top player Daniel Harman. We should be a lot more competitive this year.”

Harman won three matches at No. 1 singles last season, as a first year player, and returns along with fellow juniors Riley Novitske, James Nearhoof and Owen Loudenslager.

Senior Ian Harer and freshman Adyn Dietrick round out the Mounties’ roster.

“We have a very young team but the boys are really working hard,” Gregory says. “They have a very positive attitude. Our goal is to have a .500 record this season.”

The Mounties are scheduled to visit Muncy on Monday, then host their home opener at Island Park in Blossburg on Tuesday against Towanda.
