NTL SOFTBALL: LADY MOUNTIES GET SEASON-OPENING WIN OVER NEB (2023-03-28)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportMANSFIELD — Junior Makenzie Tice had herself a game here Tuesday .. throwing a complete-game no hitter and going 4-for-4 at the plate to lift the Lady Mounties to a season-opening, 9-0 win over defending NTL-II champ Northeast Bradford.
Tice had a double, an RBI and scored three runs in the game, and added 12 strikeouts and no walks to her no-no.
Freshman Haley Litzelman had two hits, including a double, three RBI and a run scored, and Saige Lehman had two hits, with a double, an RBI and three runs scored.
Megan Spohn, Addie Smith and Alexia Kshir each had a base hit, with Kshir adding two runs scored and Smith one.
The Lady Mounties scored five runs in the third inning and two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings.
NP-Liberty starts their season 1-0 with the win. They are scheduled to visit Elkland Thursday to take on Williamson.
