NTL BASEBALL: CV TOPPED BY TOWANDA (2023-03-28)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTOWANDA — Cowanesque Valley struggled to string hits together and fell behind Towanda early here Tuesday, eventually falling 8-1 to the host Black Knights.
Towanda scored a run in the first inning, the second, the third and the fifth, and took an 8-0 lead with a four-run fourth inning.
CV scored their run in the sixth when Graham Hess led off with a pinch-hit single and back-to-back doubles from Coen Kemp and Jordan Vargeson scored Hess. Kemp was thrown out at home, attempting to score on Vargeson’s double.
Hunter Simonds and Nick West added hits for the Indians.
The Indians (1-2) are scheduled to host the Troy Trojans on Thursday.
