Northern Tier West Sports ReportWESTFIELD — The North Penn-Liberty boys tennis team earned their first win since 2021, topping league-foe Cowanesque Valley 3-2.
No. 1 Singles: Daniel Harman (NPL) def. Cody Peers (CV) 6-0, 6-1
No. 2 Singles: Riley Novitske (NPL) def. Evan Zinck (CV) 6-1, 6-2
No. 3 Singles: CV wins via FF
No. 1 Doubles: Owen Loudenslager & James Nearhoof (NPL) def. Ben Doran & Maverick Graves (CV) 6-2, 6-4
No. 2 Doubles: Nate Boyer & Connor Burdick (CV) def. Ian Harer & Aden Dietrick (NPL) 7-5, 6-3
Cowanesque Valley falls to 0-4 on the season with the loss, while the Mounties are 1-1 with their first win since the 2021 season when they went 1-9. NPL went 0-11 a season ago.
North Penn-Liberty is scheduled to return to play on Monday at home against Galeton, while CV is scheduled to visit Wellsboro on Wednesday.
