GALETON — Cowanesque Valley used an eight-run inning to pull ahead of and hold off Galeton here Monday, earning a 10-6 non-league win over the host Tigers.

Cayden Moon earned the win for CV, going five and a third innings and allowing five runs on five hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Kaden Cole threw an inning and two-thirds and surrendered one run on three hits with one K.

The Indians scored a run in the first inning and Galeton scored a run in each of the second and third innings. CV sent 12 batters to the plate in the top of the fourth and scored eight runs, gave up four runs to the Tigers and tacked on their final run in the final inning.

Jordan Vargeson led CV at the plate, collecting three base hits with a pair of doubles, three RBI and two runs scored, while Larson Swimley had two base hits, with a double, and scored twice.

Ayren Morgan, Hunter Simonds, Coen Kemp and Kaden Cole each had a base hit, while Simonds, Moon and Button each had an RBI and scored a run, Cole had two RBI and Kemp scored twice. 

Cowanesque Valley is now 5-13 and will play their final game of the season Tuesday against Sayre.
