WELLSBORO — The visiting Rams used a pair of four-run innings late to pull away from Wellsboro and down the Hornets 12-3 in NTL-I baseball play here Tuesday.

Each team scored a first-inning run and Wyalusing added a run in the second. After a scoreless third inning, the Rams plated two runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and their final four in the seventh. Wellsboro scored their final two runs in the sixth and seventh.

Freshman Drayden McGee started for Wellsboro and went three innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks with a strikeout. Freshman Dylan Copp threw the fourth and fifth innings, giving up six earned runs on eight hits and a walk and junior Ryder Bowen finished, going two innings and allowing four earned runs on three hits and three walks.

Caden Smith had two base hits .. with a double .. and scored a run while Conner Adams, Marek Mascho and Gabe Sprouse each had a base hit .. including a double for Mascho .. and Adams, Cam Brought and Mascho each had an RBI and Alec Magli and Blake Hamblin scored runs.

Wellsboro (10-9) has one regular-season game remaining .. Wednesday at Shikellamy .. and will claim the sixth and final spot in the District 4 Class AAA playoffs.
