WELLSBORO — The Lady Hornets won their third game of the season Wednesday, topping the visiting Lady Falcons 14-4 in five innings.

Wellsboro collected 11 hits in the game and used five runs in both the second and fourth innings to pull away from Coudersport.

Jordyn Abernathy had three hits, including a triple, an RBI and scored three runs while Carolyn Warner had a triple and a single and Maddi Bordas had a double and a single. Rylie Boyce had two base hits and Tegan Del Rio and Kieleigh Hoover each had a hit.

Bordas and Del Rio each had two RBI, while Warner, Abby Owlett and Mariah Borden each had one. Warner scored three runs, Borden and Bordas scored twice each and Boyce, Owlett, Del Rio and Molly Ingerick each scored once.

Boyce went four and two-third innings to get the win, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts. Borden retired the final Coudersport batter of the game on a groundout.

Wellsboro (3-15) has two games remaining on their season, starting at Sayre on Thursday.
