SHIKELLAMY — Wellsboro traveled to Shikellamy on Wednesday for the final game of their regular season and would fall to the host Braves, 13-2.

The Hornets took a lead in the first inning with a pair of runs, as Marek Mascho drew a walk and scored as Cameron Brought singled. Brought later scored on a double by Gabe Sprouse.

In the bottom half of the inning the Braves scored nine runs, then added one in the third inning and three in the fourth to end the game early.

Wellsboro had five hits in the game, one each by Conner Adams, Blake Hamblin and Brought. Sprouse and Mascho added the remaining hits.

Brought, Mascho and Hamblin split time on the mound, combining for seven hits, 10 walks, and three strikeouts.

The Hornets finish the regular season with a 10-10 record and earned the 7th seed in the District 4 Class AAA playoffs. They’ll travel to face Mount Carmel in the opening round on Saturday, with the first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
