Wellsboro came the closest to finishing the season with a .500 record among the West squads, going 10-10 in the regular season to qualify for District play and falling in the first round. The Hornets had no problems scoring runs this season, thanks in large part to senior first baseman/pitcher Cameron Brought .. the All-Tioga County Baseball Player of the Year and the Offensive Player of the Year. 

Brought had a league-leading .485 batting average, .578 OBP, 33 base hits and 31 RBI, added seven doubles, three triples and three home runs, drew 14 walks and scored 22 runs for the Hornets. 

On the mound, Brought gave Coach Steve Adams a reliable closer and went 2-1 with two saves while throwing 28 innings for the Hornets with a 4.69 ERA and 43 strikeouts. 

Williamson had the biggest improvement in wins as they went 6-14 a season ago and 9-11 this year. North Penn-Mansfield improved by one win, going 8-12 this season after last season’s 7-13.

Our Defensive Player of the Year is Wellsboro senior Conner Adams, a vacuum at shortstop and another coach on the field for Dad and Head Coach Steve Adams. The Mansfield commit also hit .400 at the plate and got on base at a .539 clip, collecting 26 base hits, eight RBI, 28 runs scored and 18 stolen bases.

The All-Tioga County Rookie of the Year is Wellsboro freshman Marek Mascho, who produced for the Hornets at the plate and on the mound. Mascho hit .364 and had a .442 on-base-percentage with 24 base hits, 14 RBI and 19 runs scored. He threw 27 innings for Wellsboro, compiling a 1-4 record with 10 walks and 13 strikeouts.
