LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: SOUTHERN TIOGA 11U WINS PA DISTRICT 15 CHAMPIONSHIP (2023-07-09)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportATHENS — The Southern Tioga 11U All-Star baseball team completed their comeback through the elimination bracket to claim the PA District 15 Championship with a 9-1 win over Blue Ridge here Sunday.
The 11U’s started the post-season off going 3-0 in pool play .. beating Troy 19-1, Allegheny Mountain 8-0 and Canton 10-0. As the #1 West team, Southern Tioga then beat NEB (#2 East) 8-3 to open the tournament before falling 6-2 to Blue Ridge (#1 East).
Southern Tioga once again beat NEB in the elimination bracket, 12-1, then topped Blue Ridge 13-4 on Friday to earn a spot in today’s final.
Southern Tioga now moves on to the Sectional tournament, which will be hosted by District 13 and will take place in Danville. Their first game will be on Friday against the District 12 champs, at 5:30 p.m.
District 13 will face off against District 24 in the other half of the Sectional bracket.
