TO STAY ALIVE IN SECTIONALS (2023-07-18) Northern Tier West Sports Report ATHENS — The Wellsboro minor All-Star baseball team kept their championship season alive Tuesday, coming back to top District 24 champ Blue Mountain 6-5 in an elimination game and earning a rematch with District 13 champ Selinsgrove.
Wellsboro led 2-1 after the first inning and the game stayed like that until the top of the 6th inning when Blue Mountain scored four runs to go up 5-2. Wellsboro rallied to score four runs and earn the 6-5 win.
Selinsgrove, who topped Wellsboro 2-1 on Monday, lost 8-4 to District 12 champ Keystone on Tuesday. The winner on Wednesday will advance to face Keystone on Thursday.
