LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL: WELLSBORO DROPS INTO CONSOLATION BRACKET OF 11U STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (2023-07-29)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — After their first-round win on Friday, the Wellsboro 9-11 year-old softball team fell in their second game of the PA championship tourney, 16-1 to Williamsport, here Saturday.
Williamsport Area, the District 12 and Section 3 champion, beat Bald Eagle 15-0 in the first round and will next play West Point, a 17-0 winner over Lower Merion.
Wellsboro will play District 1 and Section 1 champ Cambridge/Conneaut Lake/FCVA Saegertown .. who lost 4-1 to West Point in the first round .. in the elimination round on Sunday at 5 p.m.
