DISTRICT IV BOYS TENNIS: POIRIER AND SINGER WIN DISTRICT CROWN FOR WELLSBORO (2021-05-17)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Wellsboro has a new District IV Championship team, as the duo of Will Poirier and Zach Singer won the Class AA doubles tennis title Monday.
Poirier and Singer advanced to the title match by beating the team from Selinsgrove 6-4, 6-0.
Facing #1 seed Montoursville, the Hornets took the first set 7-6, then won the crown, 6-2.
Poirier and Singer will now represent Wellsboro at the PIAA tournament, being held at the Hershey Racquet Club next Friday.
