Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY, PA — NTWSR is pleased to recognize the outstanding individual performances put forth by our ‘Laurel Health Athletes of the Week’.
FOOTBALL
Bowen ran for 99 yards and scored both touchdowns in the Hornets’ 14-13 upset win over Muncy. The junior added eight tackles defensively.
VOLLEYBALL
Lehman led the Mounties to a 2-0 start with 13 kills and 15 digs in a 3-1 win over Williamson and six kills, 11 digs and five aces in a 3-0 sweep of Cowanesque Valley.
BOYS SOCCER
Ficks scored a goal in each of the Warriors’ three wins this week, including a 2-1 win over Wellsboro, a 5-0 win over Towanda and an 8-0 win over Northern Potter.
GIRLS SOCCER
The sophomore scored the Tigers’ lone goal in their 4-1 opening-season loss to Northeast Bradford.
GOLF
Zuchowski shot a three-over 38 on the front and a 41 on the back with two birdies and eight pars for a 78 and low honors at the NTL match at Towanda, leading the Hornets to a 4th-place finish.
GIRLS TENNIS
Johns won both of her No. 2 Singles matches in a pair of 3-2 losses for the Mounties.
