HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY: NPM LADY TIGERS PLACE SECOND, BOYS FIFTH AT LASAGNA INVITE (2023-09-08)

WYALUSING — The North Penn-Mansfield Cross Country teams kicked off their seasons at Wyalusing’s Lasagna Invite on Friday.

The Lady Tigers placed five runners in the top-20 to finish second behind meet winner Wyalusing, while the boys’ squad placed fifth.

Freshman Jaci Fairchild was NPM’s top finisher, placing fifth (22:56.60), while senior Addison Farrer was sixth (23:17.70), junior Madelynne Johns was ninth (23:50.60), senior Madalyn Farrer was 12th (24:31.50) and sophomore Nora Furry was 20th (27:34.30).

Juniors Anna Kennedy and Kendelle Holleran finished 21st (27:34.30) and 22nd (27:40.90) and freshmen Carolyn Cherwinski, Alivia Lisowski and Moira Wheeler finished 23rd (28:04.00), 27th (28:47.70) and 29th (29:44.40).

On the boys’ side, freshman James Knefley finished fourth overall (18:45.20) while senior Jude Rohl was 12th (20:18.70), juniors Cedric Miller and Luke Tice were 35th (24:54.60) and 36th (25:43.80) and senior Colton Brion was 41st (35:38.40). 

North Penn-Mansfield is scheduled to host Athens and Sayre on Tuesday for a trip-meet.
