TIOGA COUNTY, PA — Northern Tier WEST Sports Report is pleased to recognize the outstanding individual performances put forth the past seven days by our ‘Laurel Health Athletes of the Week’.

BOYS SOCCER
Cuneo recorded a hat trick to lead the Hornets to their third straight win since a season-opening loss to Williamson, cruising in a 5-1 win over the host Galeton Tigers.

GIRLS SOCCER
Seeling led the Hornets to their first win of the season, scoring two goals and assisting on the other as Wellsboro beat Port Allegany 3-0.

FOOTBALL
Graham Hess, Cowanesque Valley
Hess threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 31 yards and a score to lead the Indians to a 44-24 win over Montgomery.

GIRLS TENNIS
Laynie LaBarron, Cowanesque Valley
LaBarron won a hard-fought match in No. 2 Singles at Towanda, winning 7-6(7-5), 7-5 to help the Indians edge the Black Knights 3-2.

GOLF
Hermansen finished as runner-up .. shooting a 38 and a 41 for a round of 79, just one stroke behind low-honors winner Evan Cooper from Athens. Hermansen had 10 pars and a birdie on the day.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Lauren Kosek, Wellsboro
The freshman won the Lasagna XC Invite title in 21:01 as one of only three Hornet runners.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
James Knefly, North Penn-Mansfield
The freshman finished fourth overall (18:45.20) at Wyalusing's Lasagna XC Invite to lead the Tigers to a fifth-place finish.

VOLLEYBALL
The senior recorded eight kills, seven aces, 13 digs and 17 serves received in the Hornets' 3-1 win over Williamson, and had 10 kills, three aces, eight digs and 13 serves received in a win over South Williamsport.
