NTL GIRLS SOCCER: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD TOPPED BY ATHENS (2023-09-11)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportATHENS — The North Penn-Mansfield girls’ soccer team dropped their sixth straight to start the season here Monday, losing 5-1 to Athens.
Athens scored two early goals before NPM’s Brooke Wilcox cut the lead in half with an unassisted goal at the 26:38 mark. The Wildcats would add three unanswered goals in the second half to secure the 5-1 win.
The Wildcats held a 22-1 advantage in shots on goal and had 13 corner kicks to the Tigers’ two.
NP-Mansfield keeper Tierney Patterson recorded 17 saves in goal.
The Tigers (0-6) will visit Wellsboro on Wednesday.
