VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY: NP-MANSFIELD RUNNERS COMPETE AT OWEGO INVITE (2023-09-23)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportOWEGO, NY — The North Penn-Mansfield cross country teams competed at the Owego Invite this weekend, with the girls finishing as runner ups and the boys’ James Knefley taking third place to pace the Tigers.
Athens won the girls race with an aggregate score of 106 while NP-Mansfield had 114, Owego Free Academy had 119 and Horseheads was fourth with 141 points.
Freshman Jaci Fairchild was the highest finisher for NP-Mansfield, placing 11th in 20:55.70.
Junior Madelynne Johns (21:02.40) was 14th, seniors Addison Farrer (21:34.90) and Madalyn Farrer (22:22.50) were 20th and 34th and sophomore Nora Furry (23:21.30) was 53rd.
Junior Kendelle Holleran (24:07.40) was 61st while freshmen Carolyn Cherwinski (24:36.10), Moira Wheeler (24:43.20) and Alivia Lisowski (26:02.50) were 71st, 73rd and 92nd.
On the boys’ side, freshman Knefly took 3rd place with a time of 17:04.70, but the Tigers didn’t have enough runners to compile a team score.
Cedric Miller (19:15.20) was 62nd, Jude Rohl (19:28.50) finished 67th and Luke Tice (22:13.10) was 127th.
